Employee Spotlight - Carol Barthold, Customer Service Manager

This quarters Employee Spotlight shines on Carol Barthold, Connor Corporation’s Customer Service Manager. Carol’s continually demonstrated dedication to our clients and her ardent professionalism makes her a valued member of Connor’s management team.

Carol remembers walking into Connor (then known as ACRO Products) on a chilly December day in 1978 to fill out an application.  She even recalled that it was a Tuesday!  Much to her surprise she was interviewed and hired on as a press operator that very same day.  Now, 33 years later, she’s still employed with Connor and has developed extensive knowledge about the business and its operation. 

Even though she started out as a press operator, Carol has held several different positions within the company during those 33 years before becoming a key part of Connors management team.  She’s worked as a buffer, secretary to the GM, purchasing agent, customer service and office manager!   Not only is she vital to the everyday operations of our business, but pivotal in client relations and logistics. 

Although it was hard for her to pick a single favorite memory from all her years at Connor, there was one that stood out as extraordinary.  In the spring of 1982 Fort Wayne was at the center of disastrous flooding throughout the northeastern part of Indiana.  Carol recalls filling sandbags with other employees and completely encircling the building in an effort to save the plant.  At that time we were located on Dwenger Avenue, which runs right beside the Maumee River.  Flood waters rose and surrounded the entire plant, but thanks to the efforts of Carol and others none ever got through.  What dedication!

Carol and her husband Dan have been married for 17 years.  She fondly refers to him as her best friend, and they have a son, Robert, and daughter, Melissa.  Her extended family also includes a stepson Adam, and a stepdaughter, Tannum.  Carol is also kept quite busy with six wonderful grandchildren, 5 girls and 1 boy.  In her spare time she enjoys gardening, sewing, reading and primitive camping.

 A significant factor in Connors continuous growth and success comes from the strength and dedication of our knowledgeable management.  We have been very fortunate to have such a solid team of employees capable of delivering the quality products our clients have come to expect.  Carol exemplifies this dedication and we hope that she remains with us for many years to come!
